Knitting at tea time

Join us at Walker & Daughter to knit, hang out, have a nosh, and share your stories.

The club meets every week at the store and we welcome drop-ins and regulars alike. Come on by and kick off your weekend as you knit with a fun bunch of clever, witty women just like you - and pick up a few handicraft tips and techniques along the way!

Learn more about us by purchasing the novel by Kate Jacobs and read on to meet our founding members:

Georgia Walker
She's the one who started it all! Georgia is a dedicated knitwear designer, mompreneur, and co-owner of the shop with her daughter…
Dakota Walker
Our youngest member - and provider of all the delicious goodies for the club meetings. (Check out her latest recipe at Dakota's Bakery and upload your own baking ideas in our online Community.)
Anita Lowenstein
This elegant and talented knitter takes on the informal role of teacher and loves to share her helpful hints. Are you a beginner? Come in and ask for Anita!
Peri Gayle
Fashionista Peri is always up on the latest trends. Which is a good thing - because she works here at Walker & Daughter!
Lucie Brennan
Putting a modern twist on the term "sweater girl" is Lucie, a super-fast knitter who loves to make cardigans and pullovers for friends, family, and herself.
Darwin Chiu
Want to hear someone tell it like it is? Ask grad student Darwin, who's a keen observer. Of course, she doesn't actually know how to knit. Yet.
K.C. Silverman
A born-and-bred New Yorker who's always up for a challenge, K.C. is a master at starting new projects…but not so expert at finishing them. (She keeps us in stitches anyway!)
Cat Phillips
She occasionally attends meetings — though she doesn't actually want to use her own hands to knit! Cat is an old friend of Georgia’s and a major client of her knitwear designs.
Kate's Favorite Color is Celadon Kate Jacobs
Follow Kate Jacobs, author of The Friday Night Knitting Club on her book tour blog. Invite her to call in to your book club by sending her an e-mail.

Barbara Zitwer
Barbara, an enthusiastic member of the club, runs an international literary agency with the same verve and creativity she brings to knitting.
Rachel Kahan
A witty and wonderful editor at Putnam, Rachel is a fan of handicrafts — especially needlepoint — and The Friday Night Knitting Club
Sue Fletcher
An overseas member and a terrific editor at Hodder and Stoughton, Sue loves to share the stories of The Friday Night Knitting Club in the UK.
