Walker & Daughter welcomes you! Finding our store is simple: Take the subway to the Upper West Side. You’ll find our charming little shop is tucked one flight above Marty’s Deli (a store with one of the best pastramis on rye in the city). And for a peek behind the scenes, click here.
We don’t care whether you’re a knitting expert or have never picked up a pair of needles. (Though we can help you pick the most appropriate ones to get started, whether it’s wood, metal, or plastic). Not to mention that our store offers a full array of yarns from choice cashmere to machine-washable acrylics in every color of the rainbow. If you have a dream, we can help make it happen.

Think you’re too busy to find the time? Our doors are open every Tuesday through Saturday from ten in the morning to eight o’clock at night, and we provide beginner’s classes several afternoons a week. But our most popular night of the week is when we host an informal gathering we like to call The Friday Night Knitting Club (the basis of the novel of the same name by Kate Jacobs). That’s when our regular group of knitters and some non-knitters too get together to share stories, stitch sweaters (and scarves), support each other and surprise ourselves with just how much fun we can have sitting around a table with a handful of women
So come on by and get to know all of us here at Walker & Daughter. You might just find that you’re ready to Join the Club!
